FLORENCE, Ala. --
Will Haberstock allowed just two runs over seven innings and North Alabama scored seven runs on a combination of seven hits, seven walks, three hit batters and two Tennessee-Martin errors to down the Skyhawks 7-3 at Mike Lane Field and even the weekend series at a game apiece.
The win has UNA at 3-5 overall, while the Skyhawks are now 4-5.
UNA fell behind 1-0 in the second inning but answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
Reid Homan singked and stole second to start the rally.
Luke Harper then walked and he and Homan then pulled off a double steal. After a fielder's choice play loaded the bases,
Dominick McIntyre walked to force in the tying run. Harper then scored on a fielder's choice by
Jonathan Lane.
The Lions added three runs in the fifth on RBI hits on an RBI single by
Devne Daniel and a ground out by Homan.
McIntyre tripled to lead off the sixth inning and scored on a wild pitch to make it 6-1.
UT-Martin got two runs back in the eighth. A double to lead off the inning forced Haberstock from the game. The Skyhawks then got a two-run homer by Ethan Whitley off UNA reliever
Jacob James to make it 6-3. James then struckout the side to end that threat.
After UNA added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth when
Austin Thrasher was hit by pitch with the bases loaded to force in McIntyre,
Austin Emener allowed a single but then struckout the side in the ninth to end the game.
