FLORENCE, Ala. -- Austin Thrasher hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning but it wasn't enough as the University of North Alabama dropped the second game of an ASUN Conference baseball series to Lipscomb, 7-3 at Mike Lane Field.

The Lions were held scoreless for six innings by Lipscomb pitcher Michael Dunkelberger, while the Bisons got single runs in the first and third innings and four in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.

UNA got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning when Thrasher was hit-by-pitch and later scored on a Devne Daniel RBI-single.

Lipscomb got that run back in the top of the ninth to make it 7-1. Zak Majer reached on an error in the ninth for UNA and scored on Thrasher's two-run blast to make the final count 7-3.

UNA out-hit Lipscomb 8-6 but left nine runners on base.

With the loss, UNA is now 8-24 overall and 2-12 in the ASUN. Lipscomb is now 20-15 overall and 9-5 in the ASUN.

UNA starter Will Haberstock (2-5) took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits with five walks and eight strikeouts over five and two-thirds innings. Caden Barnett pitched the final three and a third innings and held Lipscomb to one run on one hit with two walks and four strikeouts.

The Lions and Bisons play the final game of the series Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
