NOTES
ROAD WARRIORS: Any game on the road can be a tall task for the visiting team, but North Alabama is no stranger to winning on the road against SEC competition. Back on Nov. 6, 2018, UNA head coach Missy Tiber led the Lions to a season-opening win on the road against Vanderbilt, 74-71, in the first game of the NCAA Division I era. It remains the only win over an SEC school in program history.
SERIES HISTORY: Mizzou leads the series 1-0. In the first-ever meeting with Mizzou in 2020, UNA came out of the gates strong with a 39-36 halftime lead. A big third quarter for Missouri made the difference, as the Lions were outscored 32-16 and the Tigers led the rest of the way.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS: North Alabama opponents have found out so far that every shot will have to be earned, as the Lions rank second in the Atlantic Sun Conference in defensive points per game with 57.0. The Lions also average the fifth-most rebounds in the conference with 26 and are fifth in steals with 2.5 per game. UNA also forces teams to beat them from inside, as the Lions own the third-best in opponent three-point field goal percentage.
THREE IS THE KEY: The Lions are always a threat to score from behind the arc, with North Alabama sporting the third-best three-point attack in the ASUN. The team is shooting 33.3% from three and average 7.5 threes per game. Sophomore Emma Kate Tittle has been a threat from range this season, sporting 2.5 threes per game on 41.7% shooting. Her totals are both second in the ASUN Conference.
DROPPING DIMES: Senior Sara Wohlgemuth continues to controll the pace for the Lions, with her 10 assists placing her second in the ASUN Conference. As a team, North Alabama averages 13 assists per contest, placing the Lions fourth atop the ASUN Conference leaderboard.
CHARITY STRIPE CHARM: The Lions are one of the best free throw shooting teams in the conference, shooting 78 percent from the line. Senior Alexis Callins and sophomore Rhema Pegues are both in the top 10 in free throws, shooting 85.7 percent and 83.3 percent, respectively. Sophomore Alyssa Clutter is also just outside the top 10, checking in at 11th with a 80 percent free throw percentage.
