LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 7, 2025) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team finished in sixth-place after a weather-riddled day that concluded the Cullan Brown Collegiate in Lexington, Ky. on Tuesday morning. 

The tournament was limited to 36 holes after darkness and inclement weather disrupted play over two days. The opening rounds ended Monday with several teams still having holes to complete in the second round. The University of Kentucky, which hosted the event, moved the conclusion of round two to Tuesday morning. A torrential downpour canceled the final round, but round two was completed.

The Lions placed sixth among a competitive field that included multiple power-four programs. Headlined by Mississippi State and Kentucky, UNA finished ahead of Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Michigan.

UNA's team total of 569 marks the ninth-best 36-hole score in the program's Division I era. Junior Andrew Ferworn set a program record for the best 36-hole individual score with a 137, while senior Sebastian Bengtsson's 142 ranks fourth in the same category.

Ferworn, who won the event last season, finished tied for second at 5-under. He was one stroke shy of a share of first place.

It marks his fourth career top-two finish. He owns individual titles at the 2024 Cullan Brown Collegiate and Turtle Point Invite, and has runner-up finishes at the 2025 GMAC Invitational and this year's Cullan Brown Collegiate.

Bengtsson finished 26th, climbing 10 spots after completing his final three holes Tuesday. He shot rounds of 73 and 69 to finish even par.

Senior Xing Luo and Walter Waineby tied for 50th at three-over for the tournament. Corey Maher rounded out the group at 15-over.
