JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 9, 2025) – Following a second-place finish Tuesday, University of North Alabama men's golf junior Andrew Ferworn won the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week award, announced Thursday.

The honor came after the shortened Cullan Brown Collegiate, which concluded at 36 holes Tuesday morning. The Houston native finished the tournament with rounds of 68 and 69, giving him the best Division I two-round individual tournament total of 137. He finished one stroke shy of first place with a five-under tournament score.

This marks his second consecutive runner-up finish, after taking second at the GMAC Invitational.

It is his fourth career top-two finish. Ferworn owns individual titles at the 2024 Cullan Brown Collegiate and the Turtle Point Invite, along with runner-up finishes at the 2025 GMAC Invitational and this year's Cullan Brown Collegiate.

Ferworn earned his third ASUN Golfer of the Week award during his career. He won two during the 2024 fall season — one after his individual victory at the 2024 Cullan Brown Collegiate.

He also won back-to-back ASUN Golfer of the Week awards last year on Oct. 10 and 17, the second coming after the Turtle Point Invite, which is next on the schedule.

Ferworn competed against power programs such as Kentucky, Mississippi State, NC State, and Cincinnati. He led the Lions to a sixth-place finish ahead of power-five programs such as Virginia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia and Michigan.

He led the field in par-3 scoring with an average of 2.63, posting a three-under score on those holes. He added nine birdies, finishing fourth overall in the tournament.

Ferworn was one of three golfers to shoot under par in both rounds across the 90-man field.

"Much deserved," said The Schmitz Family head coach Austin Phillips. "He is playing really good golf and I cannot wait to see what he does for the rest of the fall. These last five rounds have been phenomenal from him."

Ferworn is one of nine Lions to win the ASUN Golfer of the Week in the Division I era, marking the 16th award for the program.

Round 1: 68 (-3), four birdies, parred the front nine (15 total pars), 33 stroke score on the back nine 

Round 2: 69 (-2), five birdies, 10 pars, no bogeys, 34 front and 35 back nine
