JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 12, 2025) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday that three University of North Alabama soccer players earned All-ASUN awards. Graduate keeper
Madison Vukas was voted the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year and subsequently earned First Team All-ASUN honors.
Junior midfielder/defender
Adelyn Speight was given the nod for Second Team All-ASUN, while freshman midfielder
Avery Stojakovich was named to the All-Freshman Team.
This is the second ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year award for the UNA program and the second honoree in three years under head coach
Chris Walker and Assistant Coach Tara McQueen, who works directly with the Lion keepers. Adriana Wright won the award in 2023.
All three players were selected to these teams in a vote of the league's head coaches. Since moving to Division I for the 2018 season, North Alabama now has 16 all-conference selections.
Vukas joined the Lions in the 2025 off-season after stops at Bowling Green and Pitt.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native earns the third First Team All-ASUN honor in school history after her stellar season. The graduate keeper led the Lions to the highest team save percentage in the country (.902) and fewest goals allowed in the ASUN (12).
Vukas set a school record for the fewest goals allowed while also claiming the Division I era records for saves (111) and goals-against average (.624) for a single season. Her play led to nine clean sheets for the season, dubbing her the nickname, 'Clean Sheet Queen.' This season, she led the Lions to the second-most shutouts in a single season during the Division I era.
She led the ASUN in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts while finishing fourth in both saves and saves per game. She finished ranked nationally in save percentage (2nd), saves (8th), shutouts (19th), goals-against average (21st) and saves per game (23rd).
"Madison has had a fantastic season and thoroughly deserves this award," said Walker. "There are some fantastic goalkeepers in the Atlantic Sun, so I am extremely proud of her for achieving this award."
Speight, a first-time captain in 2025, provided a brick wall at the center back position that denied opponents scoring opportunities throughout the season. Her play awards her the Second Team All-ASUN honor, the first since
Hannah Guthrie in 2023 and the sixth nod since the start of the Division I era.
She was a mainstay when it came to free kick or set piece distribution for the Lions to help initiate the offense. Offensively, she had eights shot for the year with two assists, including one from a free kick that awarded junior
Charlotte Sobotka her first goal as a Lion.
The junior earned ASUN Defender of the Week honors after back to-back shutouts from the defense. One of her most notable moments came against Jacksonville State where she blocked a Gamecock opportunity inside the 18'.
Coined the 'Speight Wall of Florence,' this iron Lion was one of two players to play all 1,730 minutes of the season. She led a backline that denied 99 shots from opponents while allowing the fewest goals (12) in a single season in school history.
"Adelyn has had a great season," said Walker. "She was a big reason why we had so many shutouts this year. Her experience and leadership in the backline was vital to how successful we were defensively."
Bursting onto the scene was Murfreesboro native and midfielder, Stojakovich. She played and started in all 19 games for the Lions this season with 1,548 minutes played en route to the first All-Freshman Team honors since
Giada Aldini in 2023.
The freshman provided nine shots with two assists for the year, but her greatest attribute is disrupting passing lanes and pestering opposing players while on the pitch. Along with Speight, the Lion defense allowed only .67 goals per game from opponents with the nine shutouts.
She was the only freshman to play and start in all games with the number of minutes played. Her minute allotment was the most for a freshman since
Gracie Tyrrell's 1,825 minutes during the 2023 season.
"Avery has had a fantastic freshman season," said Walker. "She did a great job this summer preparing herself for the transition from high school to college. Her energy in the midfield is infectious and is a boost to everyone around her."
This seasons' three ASUN Postseason Awards ties 2018 for the second most during the Division I era trailing only the five from 2023.
All three were key contributors to the bounce-back 2025 season, which ended with an 8-5-6 record and a return to the ASUN postseason. The team recorded nine shutouts, including one that gave Walker his 100th career win.
