FLORENCE, Ala. (December 23, 2025) – The University of North Alabama men's basketball program announced a new start time for the 2026 conference opener on Jan. 1 against Stetson. Through mutual agreement by both teams, the game will now tip at noon inside CB&S Bank Arena.

UNA finished its non-conference slate with a 5-6 record and will enter Atlantic Sun Conference play as the defending co-regular season champions. The Lions went 14-4 in league play last season, including an 11-0 record at home with two postseason wins.

According to available records, this will be the first New Year's Day home game for the men's program. UNA played on the road at Texas Tech on Jan. 1, 2024. There are no other known instances of a New Year's game.
