RICHMOND, Ky. (April 3, 2025) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team takes on the ASUN North Invitational in its next outing, heading to Richmond, Ky. from April 4-5 to face Austin Peay, EKU and Central Arkansas.
A second full weekend of Atlantic Sun Conference play awaits the Lions, traveling the campus of EKU to face the three conference foes. After facing No. 14 Stetson, No. 16 North Florida, FGCU and Jacksonville last time out, North Alabama faces the remaining conference foes in the final of two ASUN Invitationals before the postseason tournament.
The Lions open on Friday, April 4, facing Austin Peay at 1 p.m. and Central Arkansas at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, finds North Alabama facing EKU at 7 a.m. before concluding with a second Austin Peay dual at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: UNA heads to Richmond with an even 10-10 record while 2-4 in the ASUN. North Alabama went 1-3 at the ASUN Midseason Invitational, taking its lone win in a 5-0 sweep on day two against Jacksonville. Senior Katy Floyd and junior Selma Robinson led the Lions with three total wins, taking top-flight victories against No. 16 North Florida, FGCU and Jacksonville. Graduate Kaitlyn Holbrook and junior Hailey Benesz also had a solid outing with two wins from flight five, securing victories against the Ospreys and the Dolphins. The Lions have three pairs with 10+ wins, with Floyd and Robinson leading from the top flight with a 15-5 record. Graduate Kaitlyn Holbrook and junior Hailey Benesz sport a 12-3 season record from flight five, and sophomore Aurora Bibolotti and freshman Paige Griner have a 11-9 record.
SCOUTING AUSTIN PEAY: The Governors head into Richmond with a 3-13 season record. Austin Peay was part of the ASUN Midseason Invitational in its last outing but dropped all four of its duals against No. 14 Stetson, No. 16 North Florida, Jacksonville and FGCU. Austin Peay's top-flight pair Jordan Morris and Grace Austin lead the Govs with a 7-9 season record.
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE GOVERNORS: North Alabama leads the all-time series against Austin Peay, 10-5. The Governors took a 3-2 win in the last meeting on March 22, 2024.
SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS: The Bears are 9-14 this season, looking to get back on track after four defeats at the ASUN Midseason Invitational last time out. Despite the results, Central Arkansas's Madelyn White led the weekend with two top-flight victories with partners Anna Linskey against Jacksonville and Kenzie Foley against the No. 14 Stetson. The Bears are led by Head Coach Avery Thibodeux.
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE BEARS: Central Arkansas leads the all-time series against North Alabama, holding a 6-3 advantage. The two teams last played on March 23, 2024, with the Lions victorious in a 3-2 victory.
SCOUTING EKU: The Colonels open day two with the home bout against the Lions. EKU is 7-9 on the year, coming off an appearance at the ASUN Midseason Invitational in Jacksonville. They will look to improve after their last outing, dropping all four duals to Jacksonville, FGCU, No. 14 Stetson and No. 16 North Florida. Fifth-flight pair Bella Williams and Elpida Pitsigkoni picked up two wins from the outing in Jacksonville, taking wins against the Dolphins and the Eagles. Three players lead the team with eight individual wins in Madalyn Richardson, Molly Shomock and Rachel Mueller. Shomock and Mueller sport the team lead with an 8-5 record from the second flight.
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE COLONELS: North Alabama leads the all-time series against the EKU, 7-0. The Lions won the first matchup, 5-0, at The March To May Invitational earlier this season on March 8.
