Clancy joins the Lions bringing over eight years of coaching experience, including both the high school and college level. He comes to North Alabama after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Mississippi State.

In a role he served from August 2024 to April 2025, Clancy assisted the Bulldogs' women's basketball program in video and data analysis and scouting. Mississippi State went 22-12 during the 2024-25 season, making the SEC Tournament Second Round and NCAA Tournament Round of 32.

"Kevin is passionate about the video and analytical side of the game," said Whitaker. "His unique skill set will serve our program well in terms of recruiting and with our current players. He is full of energy and casts a wide recruiting net. We are happy to welcome him to our Lion family."

Additionally, Clancy brings collegiate coaching experience at four different institutions ranging from junior college to the Division II level.

His first collegiate coaching position came at Moravian College, serving as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for the 2019-20 season. In 2021-22, Clancy moved on to the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach.

Clancy next landed at Richard Bland College where he was the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for the 2022-23 season. The Statesmen excelled in Clancy's one year with the team, going 29-3 on the season while finishing as the runner-up in the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship.

Prior to Mississippi State, Clancy served as the assistant women's basketball coach at Thomas More University for the 2023-24 season. His lone season with the Saints saw the team play their first season in Division II, going 18-11 with a 13-7 record in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Saints also won their first GMAC Tournament game in program history, defeating Hillsdale College 50-41 in the quarterfinals.

Clancy also brings high school coaching experience, making two stops at both Villa Madonna Academy and Willows Academy.

In 2018-19, Clancy was the Assistant Varsity Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Willows Academy. He helped lead the team to a 21-8 record while improving their win total by 13 from the previous season. At Villa Madonna Academy, Clancy was the Head Girls Basketball Coach for the 2020-21 season.

Along with his coaching experience, Clancy spent time as a Basketball Data Quality Processor at STATS LLC from January 2017 to August 2018.

"I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the North Alabama Women's Basketball program as an assistant coach," said Clancy. "The people of the Shoals community, the current coaches and players, the growth of the University and the rise of women's basketball make this the perfect time to be a Lion. I want to thank Coach Whitaker for believing in me, and I can't wait to watch our program bring energy and excitement to Florence on and off the court."
