THE LINEUP: UNA will have a slightly different lineup than it sent to the Velvet Classic last month in Kentucky, as sophomore Kiersten Riggins makes the trip this weekend and will play in the five spot. The top four remains the same with senior Ava Schwartz, freshman Celia Martinez Garcia, junior Olivia Whittle and fifth-year senior Kerigan Klauber on the card.
THE FIELD: Eight teams from around the region will compete in The Robbie this week representing the states of Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas. UNA is the only school from Alabama in the tournament. The others include Bellarmine, Jacksonville, West Florida, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Lamar and host school Lipscomb. West Florida won the Velvet Classic and will join UNA a second time, while Tennessee State also joins UNA a second time. The Lions were ahead of TSU by 89 strokes in Kentucky.
THE COURSE: Temple Hills Country Club is a private golf and lifestyle club in Franklin, featuring 27-holes of championship golf designed by Leon Howard. Set among the rolling hills just outside Nashville, the club offers a welcoming, approachable golf experience with plush fairways, undulating greens and three distinct nine-hole courses that keep every round fresh. The tournament is named after Robbie Brewer Davis, a supporter of the sport of women's golf and a graduate of Lipscomb.
ORDER OF EVENTS: Practice rounds begin Sunday at 12 p.m. with UNA slated to begin practicing at 12:36 p.m. The first round is set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. The final round will begin at the same time Tuesday.
LAST TIME OUT: UNA had a strong start to the season last month, placing fifth of 14 teams at the Velvet Classic in Paducah, Ky. Whittle was the driving force behind UNA's success, placing within the top 10 after carding an even-par 72 in the final round. Martinez had a tremendous debut, as well, shooting 11-over to finish 17th overall. She also had an even 72 in the final round to help UNA maintain its top-five placement.
NASHVILLE REWIND: UNA's last trip to Music City was last season at Hermitage GCS, where the Lions will also visit later this season. UNA placed 11th of 16 teams in that tournament, led by Klauber and Schwartz within the top 40. Klauber also finished top 40 at the same course on March 25, 2025, helping UNA place eighth of 16 teams. This week will be the third time playing in the Nashville area and the first time at Temple Hills.
