ARLINGTON, Texas (October 19, 2026) – The United Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday, naming junior Reese Ricketts the Co-Player of the Week alongside Eastern Kentucky's Emilee Hill.
This is now the eighth UAC weekly award North Alabama volleyball has received this season, with junior Kinslee McGowan earning three Setter of the Week awards, senior Ava Martindale earning three Defensive Player of the Week awards and now Ricketts earning her second Player of the Week award.
This is the second straight week Ricketts has earned the UAC Player of the Week, recording 41 kills two weeks ago to average 5.13 kills per set and hit .313.
Ricketts had amazing performances over two home wins at CB&S Bank Arena this past week, recording 50 kills to average 5.00 kills per set. She also had three service aces, 14 digs and six blocks.
In the match against UT Arlington, Ricketts set a new career high after racking up 32 kills in the five-set win over the Mavericks. Her previous career high was set last season against Stetson on Oct. 10 when she recorded 25 kills. Against the Mavericks, she also had three service aces, two blocks and hit for .281.
Against Austin Peay, Ricketts recorded 18 kills and four total blocks. Nine of her kills came from the fifth set, sparking a comeback win for the Lions who were once down 13-7 to the Governors. She was responsible for all nine of the Lions' final points, recording seven kills and two block assists, both assisted by sophomore Jenna Kolosta.
The UAC named Rachel Koss from Abilene Christian as Setter of the Week, UT Arlington's Samantha Glenn as Defensive Player of the Week and Abilene Christian's Alyssa Todd as Freshman of the Week.
North Alabama travels to Texas this week for two UAC road matches. Thursday, the Lions will face Abilene Christian for the second time this season, previously defeating the Wildcats 3-2 in CB&S Bank Arena.
This match will be played in Abilene, Texas at Moody Coliseum at 6 p.m.
The Lions also face UT Arlington on Saturday in Arlington, Texas at College Park Center at 1 p.m. This is also the second time facing the Mavericks after defeating them 3-2 last week at CB&S Bank Arena.
