CARROLLTON, Ga. (February 10, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's basketball team faces West Georgia in Atlantic Sun Conference action Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Carrollton, Ga. This will be the third road game for UNA in the last five days.
The longtime Gulf South Conference foes prep for their third Division I meeting in a contest between top half conference teams. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.

LAST TIME OUT: North Alabama suffered just its second loss in its previous nine games in a 59-48 setback at Central Arkansas on Feb. 9. It was a battle of defenses with both teams alternating quarter leads through the first three, but the Sugar Bears used a strong fourth period to take the home win.
SCOUTING UNA: The Lions' offense is shooting at a 40.4 percent rate this season. UNA has a slight advantage against opponents in shooting percentage – limiting opponents to 38.2 percent shooting. The Lions additionally lead opponents in three-point percentage (29 percent - 28.2 percent), rebounds (867-847), assists (313-243) and blocks (75-68). North Alabama has won seven of its last 10 games – including four-straight victories from Jan. 10-22 (vs. Bellarmine, at North Florida, at Jacksonville and vs. Queens) and three-straight from Jan. 31 - Feb. 7 (vs. FGCU, vs. Austin Peay and at Queens). Five players averaged over nine points during the span in senior Alexsandra Alvarado (17.4 points per game), freshman Gabby Jackson (10.5), junior Katie Criswell (9.5), sophomore Sofia Ceppellotti (9.3) and senior India Howard (9.2).
SCOUTING WEST GEORGIA: The Wolves enter the matchup tied for third in the ASUN standings with a 15-8 overall record and 8-4 mark in conference play. Last time out, West Georgia defeated North Florida in a 75-68 road victory on Feb. 7. UWG has the third-best offense in the ASUN at 72.2 points per game, also ranking second in team three-point percentage (33 percent) and third in three-pointers made per game (8.4). West Georgia also ranks third in total rebounds with 38.7 per game. Jasmine Jones (14.3 PPG/fifth) and Sydne Tolbert (13.7 PPG/T-sixth) both rank in the top 10 of conference scoring. Fourth-year head coach Joanna Reitz leads West Georgia.
SERIES HISTORY: North Alabama and West Georgia meet for the 76th time on Wednesday. UNA leads with a 40-35 series advantage. Both teams claimed a win during the 2024-25 season, with the last Lions victory coming in an 82-73 home win on Feb. 1, 2025.
RIGHT UP HER ALLEY: Alvarado sports a team-leading 13.7 points per game. She is also UNA's leader in assists (71), three-pointers made (45) and steals (35). Alvarado is tied for fifth in the ASUN in three-pointers made per game (two per game), tied for sixth in scoring and ninth in assists per game (3.1). Defensively, Alvarado is tied for 12th in steals per game (1.5). She won her first ASUN accolades Feb. 2, taking home both the conference's Player and Newcomer of the Week honor.
SOFIA SHINES: Ceppellotti is second on the team with 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. The sophomore is tied for 14th in three-pointers made per game (1.4), tied for 15th in rebounding and 22nd in scoring in the ASUN.
GABBY GETS IT!: Jackson is the team leader in total rebounds with 143 for a 6.2 average. She has had at least seven rebounds in 10 games this season with the Kansas City, Mo. native 11th in the ASUN in rebounds per game. She earned back-to-back ASUN Freshman of the Week honors on Jan. 12 and Jan. 20.
BUKKY BUCKETS: Graduate Bukky Akinsola has shown veteran leadership in multiple parts of the game. Averaging 6.3 points per game, Akinsola has made her mark in the playmaking and defense category. She's second on the team in total assists (40) and has 19 steals on the season.
All INDIA, ALL THE TIME: Howard continues to produce on both ends of the floor with 7.2 points per game averages and 4.6 rebounds. She is the team's blocks leader with 22 on the season and leads in field-goal percentage at 58.1 percent. Howard totaled her 100th career block against South Alabama on Dec. 14, 2025, and played in her 100th career collegiate game on Feb. 9 at Central Arkansas.
COUNTING ON CRISWELL: Criswell has been finding ways to produce on both ends as well. She's been the Lions' on-ball defensive specialist and has accumulated double-digits in both steals (18) and blocks (14). She's also provided timely scoring outputs throughout the season with a high of 17 points vs. EKU on Jan. 8.
NOTHING EASY: North Alabama gets it done on the defensive end with three players ranked on the ASUN's blocked shots leaderboard. Howard ranks seventh at one per game while Criswell is tied for 16th with 0.6 per game. Ceppellotti is tied for 23rd at 0.5.
