JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 19, 2026) – Following his eighth-place tie at The Prestige on Tuesday, University of North Alabama junior Andrew Ferworn has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
The honor came after a shortened stay La Quinta, Calif., which concluded at 36 holes Tuesday morning due to inclement weather. The Houston native carded rounds of 70 and 71 for a two-round total of 141 (-1) — a share of the fifth-best Division I two-round individual score during the Division I era.
The Houston, Texas native bested ranked players such as No. 7 Texas Tech's Connor Graham, No. 30 SMU's William Sides and No. 70 Wake Forest's Tom Haberer. He was one of 11 players to shoot under par in the 120-man field. H
is 141 two-round total ties for fifth best for a Division I Two Round Individual Tournament total at UNA.
The finish marked Ferworn's fifth top-three performance of the year. He placed second at both the GMAC Invitational and the Cullan Brown Collegiate before finishing third at the Turtle Point Invite. He took home the individual crown at the Florida Atlantic Invitational.
Ferworn has now earned his fifth career ASUN Golfer of the Week honor. He won two during the 2024 fall season — back-to-back awards after his victories at the Cullan Brown Collegiate and Turtle Point Invite.
His first award this season came after another shortened tournament, the Cullan Brown Collegiate; his second came after the Florida Atlantic Invitational.
The junior led the Lions to a sixth-place team beating 11-ranked opponents en route to the top-quarter finish across the 24-team field.
"Good bounce back for Andrew this week," said The Schmitz Family head men's golf coach Austin Phillips. "Especially with such a good field. He continues to put himself in the right positions and I know it will continue."
Ferworn is one of nine Lions to earn ASUN Golfer of the Week honors in the Division I era, marking the 18th award in program history.
