LAST TIME OUT: Seniors Dallas Howell and Donte Bacchus suited up for their final game in CB&S Bank Arena on Wednesday, and both rose to the occasion with a combined 38 points in North Alabama's 73-68 win over Bellarmine on senior night. Howell was the sparkplug with 14 points in the first half and 18 total, while Bacchus led the team with 20 points and 13 rebounds for his second career double-double.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: UNA has won two of the last four games and has one of the top six defenses in the ASUN with 78.0 PPG allowed this season. UNA is also second in the league behind West Georgia in blocked shots with 3.8 per game. UWG averages 4.9. The Lions are led by Bacchus with 15.0 PPG and redshirt junior Corneilous Williams with 12.6 PPG and a league-leading 9.6 RPG.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES: West Georgia has a 13-16 overall record and sits 7-10 in ASUN play, sitting in a tie for sixth with EKU in the league standings. Those two teams split in the regular season. The Wolves recently picked up a marquee win over Lipscomb on Wednesday by an 84-78 final in Carrollton. Shelton Williams-Dryden ranks third in the conference with 20.4 PPG and is the second-leading rebounder at 9.1 RPG.

SERIES HISTORY: North Alabama and West Georgia have played 75 times dating back to the Division II days as rivals in the Gulf South Conference. West Georgia has a slight 38-37 advantage in the all-time series. The first meeting took place in 1982 and the Lions and Wolves played yearly until 2018 when UNA moved up to Division I. UWG made the move last season, reigniting the rivalry. UNA won both games last year, while West Georgia won this year's meeting just over two weeks ago.

LAST MEETING: West Georgia won 82-73 the last time these two teams played in Florence on Feb. 11. UNA trailed just five with 1:31 remaining before UWG stretched the lead in the final minute. Bacchus and sophomore Kevin de Kovachich led the way with Bacchus scoring a career-high 26 points and de Kovachich a season-high 20 points.

LAST TIME IN THE COLISEUM: Last season on Feb. 8, 2025, UNA led wire-to-wire for a 78-61 road win over West Georgia. This win clinched a spot in the ASUN Championship for UNA that season with nearly a month to go in the regular season. Corneilous Williams tied the Division I school record with 19 rebounds in this game while adding 12 points.

BACK TO FORM: Williams led the ASUN in rebounding last season and has led the league for almost the entirety of this season. Williams has only entered four games this year without being the ASUN's leading rebounder. He is currently averaging 9.6 RPG to rank ahead of Shelton Williams-Dryden of West Georgia in second at 9.1 RPG.

SIXTH-YEAR SENIOR: Dallas Howell is the longest-tenured member of the program with six seasons at UNA, including a COVID-19 season and an injury redshirt last season. He is one just seven players in Division to play for six seasons, but he is the only one to play all six at the same school. The other schools with a sixth-year player include Oklahoma, Iowa State, USC, Texas, Bowling Green and Tarleton State.

TWENTY-PIECE NUGGET: Bacchus remains UNA's leading scorer at 15.0 PPG and has scored 20 or more points eight times this season, including six of the last 10 games.

STAYING OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE: UNA currently ranks 25th in the country with only 15 fouls per game. The top mark is only 12.7 fouls per game by South Alabama.

SHOWING UP: UNA looks to lead the ASUN in average attendance for a second straight season, currently averaging 2,345 fans per game. The Lions averaged 2,367 fans per game last season, ranking ahead of FGCU and Lipscomb in second and third, respectively. Austin Peay is second in the league this season with 2,172 per game.
