Women’s Golf hauls in three academic awards

Chanpen, Klauber, Schwartz named to Academic All-ASUN team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 22, 2026) – Three members of the University of North Alabama women's golf team were selected to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic team on Wednesday, including sophomore Sirichaya Chanpen and juniors Kerigan Klauber and Ava Schwartz.

Klauber and Schwartz have earned academic honors in the past, while this marks the first for Chanpen. Klauber has been a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection, while Schwartz was an All-American Scholar as a freshman at UAB.

This marks the first Academic All-ASUN selection for all three.

Chanpen finished with a 77.3 stroke average this season over 29 rounds. She landed a pair of top 10 finishes this season at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate in Owens Crossroads, Ala. and the Houston Lake Invitational in Georgia. Her best score came in the two-round Johnie Imes Invitational last fall in Missouri at three-over, carding a 73 and 74.

Chanpen is majoring in exercise science.

Klauber, who has been on the roster for four seasons, finished the season with a 77.8 scoring average over 29 rounds. She had the best outing of her career this spring at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate with a runner-up finish out of 60 golfers. She had the second-lowest individual round in school history with a 68 in the first round of that tournament. Her three round score of 217 was just two shy of the school record set by Jackie Klemm in 2023.

Klauber completed her bachelor's degree in Summer 2025 while majoring in exercise science. She is now in the master's program and has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Schwartz finished with a 77.7 scoring average over 29 rounds, including a top 10 finish at the Houston Lake Invitational hosted by Mercer. She finished 10-over for an eighth place showing, including a season-low round of 71 in the second round. She was also UNA's leading golfer at the ASUN Championship this past weekend in Dothan, Ala. at 14-over.

Schwartz has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA every semester and is majoring in professional management.

To be eligible for the award, undergraduate student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA, participated in 50 percent of contests during the season, have completed four (4) semesters of college coursework or 50 percent of progress towards a degree and have one year of residence at the institution. Student-athletes in post-graduate programs must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have participated in 50 percent of contests during the season.
