UNA SWEEPS LEE FOR NINTH STRAIGHT WIN

FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama volleyball team posted its ninth straight victory Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 home win over Lee. The 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 victory gives the Lions a 9-2 overall record with a 3-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
 
Natasha Fomina and Lexie Bradley combined for 21 kills on the day as UNA recorded its second straight win over the Flames. Fomina led the way with 11 kills while Bradley hit .353 for the match with 10 kills.
 
As a team, the Lions hit .333 with setter Andrea De Leon recording 38 assists. Jessica Austin and Peyton Lang added eight kills each. Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich added 18 digs for UNA.
 
Silvia Sartori led Lee (4-3 overall, 0-2 GSC) with 11 kills.
 
North Alabama will begin a two-match GSC road swing next week with stops at Union (Sept. 25) and Christian Brothers (Sept. 26). The Lions will return home to host West Georgia at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Flowers Hall.
