JACKSON, Tenn., – Union shot 60.7 percent from the floor in the second half to overcome a one-point deficit and pick up a 95-83 home victory over North Alabama Monday night in Gulf South Conference men's basketball action. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 12-4 while UNA falls to 9-7 on the year. Both teams are 6-4 in GSC play.

After trailing 35-34 at the break, Union outscored the Lions 61-48 over the final 20 minutes. The Bulldogs used a 15-0 run to start the half to go ahead 51-37 with 16:11 remaining. The lead reached 16 before UNA got back in the game with an 18-7 run of its own.

DeAndre McKinnie scored eight points during the run, including a free throw at the 9:15 mark to make the score 62-57. After Union responded to push the lead to 12, UNA stayed within striking distance but the Bulldogs sank 13-of-14 free throws in the final two minutes of play.

John Fletcher scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Lions. McKinnie finished with 13 points while Tavaras Tolliver added 11 points for UNA.

Five players reached double figures in scoring for Union, including Marterrace Brock, who led the way with 21 points.

After playing four straight GSC road games, UNA will return home for its next contest Saturday against first-place UAH. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
