FLORENCE – North Alabama's five seniors each had strong showings during the Lions' 3-0 victory over Mississippi College Saturday evening at Flowers Hall. The 25-15, 25-7, 25-14 Senior Day win gives UNA a 26-6 overall record as the team wraps up the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the Gulf South Conference.
Lexie Bradley had a match-high 17 kills, including 10 in the second set alone for the Lions. She added a block and a service ace on the night. Fellow senior Ana Gabriela Pacheco hit .750 with nine kills and 10 digs. Victoria Krohn also wrapped up her career at Flowers Hall with nine kills on 17 swings for a .529 showing, while Jessica Austin rounded out the top offensive performers with seven kills for the match.
Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich led the way with 19 digs. It was a school-record 119th match with double-digit dig totals for the senior from Lansing, Ill.
For the match, North Alabama hit .416 as a team while holding the Choctaws to a .011 showing. Mississippi College (10-22) was held to a season-low 13 kills.
UNA has clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's GSC Tournament. The Lions will receive a first-round bye and face the winner of the West Alabama/Lee matchup on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Pensacola, Fla.
