FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama Head Baseball Coach Mike Keehn has announced the signing of ten players with the Lions during the early signing period. These signees will enroll at North Alabama in August 2018 as UNA's first Division I signing class.

The signing class includes six high school seniors and four transfers. The group consists of two catchers, two infielders one outfielder and five pitchers. Two of the pitchers are also position players.

The list of incoming freshmen joining the Lions includes Florence High School catcher Landon Langston, Phil Campbell High School third baseman Peyton Thomas, Arab High School shortstop Drew Hudson, James Clemens High School left-handed pitcher/first baseman Laken Lansdell, Springhill High School right-handed pitcher Colton Teal and Norwalk (Conn.) High School/IMG Academy outfielder Reid Singewald.   

A pair of Calhoun Community College transfers joining the UNA program are left-handed pitcher Colin Chamblin and right-handed pitcher/outfielder Hunter Davidson. Both Davidson and Chamblin play for former UNA All-American Mike Burns at Calhoun.  East Central Community College right-handed pitcher Kolby Crowley and Auburn/IMG transfer catcher Gerardo Miranda fill out the list transfer signees. The transfers will be looking to make an immediate impact next season, according toc coach Keehn.

"I want to thank our assistant coaches Matt Hancock and Nick McGregor for all their hard work to sign our first Division I class," said Keehn.  "It is a talented group of athletes and each of them will have an opportunity to play a major role throughout their careers here. We are very excited about the future of the program as we move to the ASUN Conference in the fall of 2018."
