LION VOLLEYBALL GETS 3-1 WIN AT UAH

HUNTSVILLE – Lexie Bradley had a career-high 34 kills and the University of North Alabama volleyball team overcame an early 1-0 deficit to post a 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 victory at UAH on Tuesday. The win gives the Lions a 25-6 overall record with a 13-2 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
 
Bradley, whose previous career-high was 28 kills set earlier this season, passes the 30-kill mark for the first time. The senior outside hitter from Florence also passes Danielle Palasak for seventh place on UNA's all-time career kill list. She now has 1,337 career kills.
 
Against the Chargers, UNA fought off an early set point in the opening set before falling 27-25. After hitting .186 in the opening game, the Lions hit .234 in the second set and over .300 in the final two frames.
 
Jessica Austin added 20 kills for the Lions. The fellow senior hit .400 and added four blocks on the night. Jayden Davila-McClary added 58 assists and 14 digs for another double-double performance.
 
Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich led the way with 20 digs. Ava Carnley was close behind with 19 digs while Sina Faulk rounded out the top defensive performances with 11 digs.
 
Anna Claire Johnson led UAH (22-11 overall, 10-5 GSC) with 12 kills.
 
UNA will close out the regular season on Saturday at home against Mississippi College. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at Flowers Hall with Senior Day festivities immediately following the contest.
