FLORENCE, Ala. -- As part of the University of North Alabama's final homestand of the 2018 baseball season, the Lions recognized the members of the school's 1993 Gulf South Conference Championship baseball team on the 25th anniversary of that title.
The 1993 Lions posted a 39-18 record and went unbeaten in he GSC Tournament. The Lions then reached the championship game of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.
One of the highest scoring teams in school history, the 1993 Lions averaged 9.8 runs per game and had a 3.92 team earned run average.
The team members included eight All-Gulf South Conference selections, two All-Americans and eight went on to play professional baseball.
