FLORENCE – Stetson recovered from an opening-set loss to post three straight wins to defeat the University of North Alabama volleyball team 3-1 Friday evening at Flowers Hall. The 25-23, 14-25, 15-25, 9-25 loss gives the Lions a 4-24 overall record, including a 2-13 mark in ASUN Conference play.

Anna Katherine Griggs had 12 kills and hit .375 on the night, but the Lions could do little on offense after the opening set. UNA had 15 kills in the first set before hitting under .200 in the next three frames, including a -.022 in the fourth set.

After facing the early deficit, Stetson was able to race out to double-digit leads to take control. Three different players reached double figures in kills for the Hatters (11-14 overall, 8-7 ASUN), including Eva Deisa's match-high 16 kills.

Mariana Trujillo had 16 assists and Breylee Linder notched 13 assists for the Lions. Defensively, Mackenzie Sullivan recorded 15 digs while Maggie Sullivan had a match-high six blocks. Six different UNA players also had one service ace each.

UNA will close the season Sunday against North Florida. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
