VOLLEYBALL LIONS FALL TO MILWAUKEE

NASHVILLE, Tenn., - The University of North Alabama volleyball team dropped the final match of the Belmont Bruiser Showcase on Saturday, falling 3-0 to undefeated Milwaukee. UNA falls to 1-2 on the season after the 25-17, 25-19, 25-12 defeat.
 
The Lions let an early 10-7 lead slip away in the opening set as Milwaukee rallied for the victory. UNA had its best offensive showing in the second set. Freshman Alyssa Dutton had five of her team-high nine kills in the frame, but the Panthers were able to pull away late.
 
Milwaukee opened the third set on a 14-4 run and never looked back. UNA hit just .034 in the final frame while the Panthers connected on a .394 clip with 15 kills.
 
Dutton added 10 digs to finish with her second double-double in three matches. Breylee Linder also had 15 assists.
 
UNA will now turn its attention to next weekend's Samford Invitational. The Lions will face a trio of in-state opponents, beginning with the host Bulldogs Friday at 7:30 p.m.
