FLORENCE, Ala. (October 27, 2023) – The University of North Alabama baseball team is set to play a three game intrasquad "world series" between team purple and team gold starting today and concluding on Saturday with a doubleheader. A free youth clinic will follow on Saturday afternoon.

O Captains! My Captains!: Each of the four team captains for the UNA Fall World Series return from the Lions' 2023 squad. Pitchers Jacob Bradshaw and Jacob James each made appearances as members of the North Alabama pitching staff while Kyle Machado and Levi Jensen were mainstays in the UNA lineup. James made 16 appearances with a team leading 84 strikeouts in 2023, while Bradshaw saw the mound 14 times and trailed just James with 63 punchouts of his own. Machado led the Lions in 2023 with a 1.012 OPS, starting in 49 games, while Jensen appeared in 38 games behind the dish. 
 
Year Two: The 2024 baseball season will be North Alabama head coach Jad Prachniak's second season with the program. Prachniak led the Lions to 14 wins, the most by a North Alabama team since 2019 when the Lions won 16 games. The Lions' eight conference victories marked the most since 2018, UNA's final year in Division II, setting a new mark for the most ASUN victories in a season. 
 
Veteran Presence: The Fall World Series will feature 25 players who appeared in at least one game for the Lions in 2023. Fifteen members of the gold team saw action for the Lions last season, while 10 members on the purple team made an appearance. Twelve of those 25 are pitchers, while the other 13 are position players.
 
Free Youth Clinic: Following the games on Saturday, Oct. 28, UNA Baseball will be hosting a Free Youth Clinic for ages 6-12. The clinic will last one hour and will conclude with an autograph session. This will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. To sign up for the
