FLORENCE, Ala. (February 25, 2025) – North Alabama Men's Basketball has a prime opportunity at history on Wednesday night inside CB&S Bank Arena, as the Lions welcome Queens for their regular season finale at 6 p.m.
With a win on Wednesday, the Lions will clinch at least a share of the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference Regular Season championship. This would mark the first ASUN team championship in any sport in school history. If the Lions win and Lipscomb loses, the Lions will win the regular season championship outright.
Wednesday will also serve as UNA's Senior Night, as the Lions will recognize six seniors and four 1,000 point scorers prior to the game.

Due to ongoing construction, the basketball parking plan has been revised for the 2024-25 season. Lots A and B will be in the parking lot directly below Flowers Hall. Lot A pass holders will have coned off spots near the staircase. Shuttles will be available to take fans up to the field house lot for entry into CB&S Bank Arena.
Lot C parking will be in the parking lot below the Mitchell Burford Science and Technology Building. Residential Students will have access into Lot C with their hang tags. The public can also park in this lot for $12. Parking at the Bill Jones athletic complex will be unavailable. However, this lot is available as a drop off area near the arena.
Fans are advised not to park in the College View Church of Christ private parking lot due to Wednesday night services.

SEEDING SCENARIO: There are 64 different scenarios that could play out in the six ASUN games on Wednesday. Of the 64 scenarios, only 18 have UNA earning the #1 seed. There are also 16 scenarios where UNA could earn the #3 seed and be jumped by FGCU. The 30 remaining scenarios have UNA as the #2 seed. UNA can earn the top seed with a win and a Lipscomb loss or wins by Bellarmine, Stetson and EKU. The top two seeds will host a first round game between 7-10 seeds and play the winners Monday night. The team that won last year's ASUN tournament was No. 2 seed Stetson.
LAST TIME OUT: North Alabama maintained its tie for first in the ASUN standings on Monday, handling the Central Arkansas Bears for a 93-70 win inside the Farris Center in Conway, Ark. This marks UNA's third straight win in Conway and the largest win margin in Conway for either team in the series.

Daniel Ortiz had 20 points apiece, while
Taye Fields added 14 points, eight rebounds and a career-high nine assists.
SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama is 21-9 on the season with a 13-4 record in ASUN play. The Lions are tied for first in the ASUN standings with Lipscomb and can clinch at least a share of its first ASUN regular season championship with a win on Wednesday. The Lions are the top team in the NCAA when it comes to ball protection, tied with Ole Miss and UC San Diego with 8.9 turnovers per game. The Lions average 79.5 PPG with 70.9 PPG allowed.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS: The Royals are in the thick of the ASUN championship race with an 18-12 overall record and an 11-6 record in conference play. The Royals are among the top six teams in the ASUN have a lot to play for on Wednesday with an opportunity to finish as high as the third seed. Queens averages 77.1 PPG with 74.2 PPG allowed. Leo Colimerio and Chris Ashby both average around 13 PPG.
SERIES HISTORY: This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the former Division II schools, as Queens has a slight 2-1 advantage in the series. The home team has won each meeting, including a 90-84 win for UNA last season in Florence.
SENIOR NIGHT: UNA will hold a special ceremony to honor five seniors before the game, including
Blake Floyd,
Taye Fields,
Daniel Ortiz,
Will Soucie and
Dallas Howell. Howell will walk even though he plans to return next year on a medical redshirt. The Lions will also honor four 1,000 point scorers on Wednesday, including Fields, Soucie, Ortiz and junior
Jacari Lane.
WATCH OUT FOR LANE: Junior guard
Jacari Lane was named to the Lou Henson Early Season Watch List, an award given to the top mid-major basketball player each season. Lane has also won ASUN Player of the Week four times this season, which is tied for the fifth-most in league history. He is averaging 16.8 PPG and is the only remaining first team All-ASUN selection back in the league this year.
ON DECK: The 2025 ASUN Championship bracket will be announced on Wednesday after play concludes. The first round begins Sunday, March 2 and the quarterfinal begins Monday, March 3. UNA is guaranteed a home game on Monday regardless of Wednesday's result. The semifinal is set for Thursday, March 6 and the championship final will take place Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m. The highest seed will host each game.
