Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 14, 2026) – Despite a three-run ninth inning that brought the tying run to the plate, the University of North Alabama baseball team fell 7-5 on Saturday afternoon against Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. at Ken Dugan Field.
Nash Rippen continues his hot streak with his 3-for-5 day that had a home run, double, three RBIs and two runs. The senior continues his streak of reaching safely which extends to 16.
North Alabama (7-12, 0-2 ASUN) had 10 hits for the Saturday game that helped create the five runs. Rippen's home run came in the top of the ninth to score Petey Craska and Dylan Coleman.
Craska, Coleman, Will Millard, Wes Walker, Justin Santoyo, Jackson Westmoreland and Bryant Loving all earned one hit today; Craska was hit in two at-bats for the afternoon.
This is the first time this season that the Lions have had 10 or more hits and did not secure the win. With the series loss today, UNA is still looking for its first series win over the Bisons since 2021.
Lipscomb (8-9, 2-0 ASUN) did nearly the same thing as yesterday as the Bisons tallied five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 6-0 after the first three frames.
The Lions pitched Luke Davenport, Gavin Oswald and Justin Battle for the contest who combined for eight strikeouts on the afternoon. The trio helped strand 12 runners on the bases.
A lot of similar players on the initial lineup card, however just in different positions.
Santoyo got his first start at third base as Coleman slid into the designated hitter role. Westmoreland and Leighton Jenkins shored up the middle infield as Westmoreland moved to second as Jenkins stayed put at his natural position. Walker started behind the dish while Will Millard moved into right field.
These were first time starts for Santoyo, Westmoreland and Millard in said positions as Lions.
