MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (September 7, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team completed the second day of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate tournament held in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Monday in 16th place.
The Lions earn a 10-over second round to total at 593 through 36 holes. Sophomore Jedd Brady continues to lead the team but is joined by freshman Anton Hedliden (+2) to finish tied for 38th.
The Lions starting lineup consists of three sophomores in Brady, Luke Davis and transfer Lucas Latimer alongside two freshmen in Hedliden and Jack Morris.
UNA started on the 10th hole for the second consecutive day at the Grande Dunes Golf Club. Every Lion had a bogey or double-bogey to begin the 10th but bounced right back with eight combined birdies over the next four holes from the group.
Brady had three straight birdies on holes 11, 12 and 13 before closing out a 33 on the first nine holes.
The Lions added 22 total birdies today which moved them into a tie for fourth at 37 overall. Hedliden leads the squad with 11 birdies, tying him for sixth amongst the 90-man field.
Hedliden earned a one-over day to lead the Lions second round. Brady and Davis each had a two-over day while Latimer (+5) and Morris (+7) closed out the group.
On day two, 12 of the 16 teams shot over par; North Alabama shot better than Jacksonville State and Illinois State (+12).
Host school Coastal Carolina (-19) took the top spot over Elon (-18) by a stroke after the conclusion of round two; Lipscomb (-17) made a run for first before settling in third place.
After the top three, the next highest scoring team was Campbell (-9) and UTSA (-6). Stetson and Kennesaw State held the tie from day one at five-under. FAU (-4) and Jacksonville (-2) closed out the under-par teams through 36 holes of action.
Jacksonville State, UNCW and Appalachian State tied in 10th. Illinois State, East Carolina and Winthrop closed out the teams ahead of North Alabama.
"We had a solid round going on the front nine but had too many big scores on the back," said The Schmitz Family Head Men's Golf Coach Matt Terry. "We are fourth in birdies made and need to capitalize so we can limit our mistakes. If we can be cleaner, I expect a great showing tomorrow."
