Men’s Golf completes first tournament at Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate

Brady shoots first under-par round for a Lion to finish tied for 26th

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (September 8, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team completed the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate tournament held in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday in 16th place.

The Lions finished at 24-over for the three rounds to total an 888 team score. Sophomore Jedd Brady showed his veteran leadership, as he shot the first under par round of the weekend for any Lion at three-under.

The Lions' starting lineup consisted of three sophomores in Brady, Luke Davis and transfer Lucas Latimer alongside two freshmen in Hedliden and Jack Morris

UNA started on the 10th hole for the third consecutive day at the Grande Dunes Golf Club. The Lions had 11 birdies today to total out at 48 for the three rounds played.

Brady had a 34 scorecard through his first nine holes before a 35 on the final nine played. Davis was the lone other Lion to shoot under par on a set of nine holes with his 34 on his final nine.

Hedliden earned a two-over day to follow behind Brady. Davis closed out a four-over final round before Latimer and Morris tied at 14-over.

Host school Coastal Carolina (-29) took the team crown as it cruised past Elon (-20). Lipscomb (-18) settled in third, after a one-under third round.

After the top three, the next highest scoring team was UTSA (-9) and Campbell (-7). Stetson (-6) took sixth place while FAU (-3) finished in seventh before Kennesaw State (-2) landed in eighth place — concluding all teams shooting under par.

Jacksonville, UNCW, Jacksonville State, Illinois State, East Carolina, Winthrop and Appalachian State closed out the teams ahead of North Alabama.

"We had a very similar round of golf as yesterday," said The Schmitz Family Head Men's Golf Coach Matt Terry. "It was good to see Jedd finish off his round today. We have to continue to work on eliminating the mistakes and capitalize on the opportunities we have. We made plenty of birdies and the more we compete, the more they will come. We are excited to get back to Florence to work."
