A four-year football letterman at UNA from 2001-04, Evan Oglesby earned All-GSC and
All-American honors as a defensive back with the Lions before spending six seasons in the National Football League.

Oglesby was selected first-team All-American by the Football Gazette and was honorable mention All-American by D2Football.com as a junior in 2003. He was first-team All-Gulf South Conference and first-team Football Gazette All-South Region that season and ranked 30th in Division II in interceptions with seven for 40 yards in returns and two touchdowns. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 66, including 49 solos and 17 assists. He had 15 pass break-ups, a fumble caused and recovered and two tackles for loss. He helped lead the Lions to a 13-1 record that included the first perfect 11-0 regular-season in school history, a Gulf South Conference championship and a spot in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs.

As a senior in 2004 he was selected first-team All-American by the D2Football.com, second-team by Dopke.com and honorable mention  by Football Gazette. He made 45 tackles with one tackle for loss, one interception, blocked one kick and deflected 11 passes. He was first-team All-GSC as a senior and was second-team Daktronics All-South Region, first-team Football Gazette All-South Region and played in the Cactus Bowl Division II All-Star Game. He was a four-year letterman and starter for the Lions. He finished his collegiate career with 224 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 13 interceptions and 38 pass break-ups.

A native of Toccoa, Ga., he originally signed as a free agent with the Buffalo Bills before playing with the Baltimore Ravens from 2005-06, the Dallas Cowboys in 2007, Baltimore again in 2008 and the Miami Dolphins from 2009-10. In all he played in 38 career NFL games and had 30 tackles and six assists.

He currently resides in his hometown where he develops athletic performance programs for youth, focusing primarily on speed training.
