LIONS VOLLEYBALL COMES UP SHORT AGAINST JACKSONVILLE

FLORENCE – Three players reached double digits in kills as Jacksonville picked up a 3-0 road victory at North Alabama Sunday in ASUN Conference volleyball action. With the loss, UNA falls to 3-14 on the year with a 1-3 mark in league play.
 
UNA struggled to find offense in the 23-25, 20-25, 19-25 loss. After hitting .314 in the opening set, the Lions were held to a .027 showing in the second set and a .083 clip in the third set.
 
Sarah-Elizabeth Williams led North Alabama with nine kills. The freshman from Chesterfield, Mo., also hit .294 on the day and added a pair of blocks. Mariana Trujillo added 10 assists for the Lions while Mackenzie Sullivan produced 16 digs.
 
Mallory Mattingly led Jacksonville (7-11 overall, 3-1 ASUN) with a match high 14 kills.
 
UNA will host Lipscomb in another ASUN matchup on Tuesday. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
