UNA ADDS 11 FOOTBALL SIGNEES

FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama head football coach Chris Willis has announced the signing of 11 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent with the Lions on National Signing Day.

Willis and the Lions added 10 high school signees and one transfer. The group includes eight signees on the defensive side and three on offense, with the addition of four defensive backs, two defensive linemen, two linebackers, two offensive linemen and a receiver.

North Alabama previously added four high school signees and two transfers during the early signing period, giving UNA a total 2021 class of 14 high school signees and three transfers.

The National Signing Day additions include defensive backs Damion Fitzpatrick (6-2, 190) of Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia, Ga.,  Jakari Foster (6-2, 190) of Piedmont High School in Piedmont, Ala., Ashaad Williams (6-1, 180) of Russellville High School in Russellville, Ala., and Terrell Bailey (5-11, 190), a transfer from the University of Tennessee. Fitzpatrick and Williams were first-team all-region as seniors, while Foster was all-county, all-region and all-state. Bailey is a native of Harvey, La., and played at John Ehret High School before attending Tennessee.

Defensive line additions include Cordova, Ala., native E.J. Colbert  (6-3, 246) of Hartselle High School and Tyrik Daniels (6-2, 245), of Linden High School in Demopolis, Ala. Daniels was a first-team all-state selection as a senior.

The linebackers joining the UNA program are Korez Goodgame (6-1, 205) of Minor High School in Birmingham, Ala., and Ta'bari Taylor (6-2, 230) of Escambia High School in Pensacola, Fla. Taylor was a first-team all-area pick last season.

Additions on the offensive side include linemen Colton Beasley (6-5, 295) of Saraland High School in Saraland, Ala., and Damon Swing (6-6, 280) from the Memphis Academy of Health Sciences in Memphis, Tenn. Beasley was an all-state selection as a senior and was a three-time all-conference pick. Swing was a two-time all-region honoree.

The receiver joining the UNA program is Justin Luke (6-2, 190) of Northside High School in Warner Robins, Ga. Luke was an all-county and all-region selection after catching 45 passes for 751 yards and four TDs last season.
