FLORENCE, Ala. (April 8, 2026) – University of North Alabama head football coach
Brent Dearmon announced a new hire to his staff this month with the addition of Justice Clegg as the new offensive line coach.
Clegg comes to the Shoals from Iowa Central Community College, where he led one of the top offensive line units at the JUCO level for seven seasons. The Tritons went seven straight years without a losing season during his tenure, including an 8-4 record in 2025 to rank No. 9 in the NJCAA national polls.
While at Iowa Central, Clegg produced 11 All-Americans on the offensive line and over 30 student-athletes that received a Division I scholarship. His position group — commonly known as the "Sled Dawgs" — helped an offense that ranked second nationally in total yards, third in rushing and passing, third in offensive yards per game and fifth in points per game.
"UNA Football is excited to welcome Coach Clegg to our staff," said Dearmon, who enters his fourth season. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and has developed high-level offensive lineman at the junior college level for many years. Coach will be an immediate impact in this program in recruiting, as well."
Clegg performed many additional roles at Iowa Central on top of his coaching duties. He served as recruiting coordinator for the program, athletic coordinator, fundraising coordinator and strength and conditioning coordinator.
Prior to Iowa Central, Clegg was the offensive line coach at NAIA member Graceland University — also in Iowa. He spent seven seasons there from 2013-19. Prior to that, he coached two seasons at Missouri Valley College and one at MacMurray College as an assistant.
As a player, Clegg was a three-year starter and team captain at Upper Iowa University from 2007-09. He also played two seasons at Utah Tech, then known as Dixie State.
"I can't explain how happy my family and I are to be part of the Shoals community," said Clegg. "This area is so rich with history and is known famously for the wonderful people in the community — couldn't ask for a better place to raise a family. I'm pumped to be accepted into the UNA family and go to work for this beautiful University and be a servant leader to the young men of this program.
"To have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with this staff of coaches and men that lead this team is something that will bring a smile on my face daily. I want to thank the coaches for allowing me to get in the fight with them — boots are strapped up tight to go to work. Roar Lions!"
