BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Rain halted the second round of play, but first round scores have the University of North Alabama women's golf team in 11th place after day one of the UAB Spring Invitational at Greystone Golf and Country Club,
UNA turned in an opening round 329 to stand at 41-over-par.
Host UAB leads the tournament at 10-over-par, 298. UAB is followed by Middle Tennessee State (299), Xavier (300), Little Rock (306), Jacksonville State (308), Samford (309), High Point (309), Belmont (316), Marshall (320), Alabama State (324) and UNA.
UNA's
Taryn Simmons is tied for 34th at 80 to lead the Lions individually.
Tori Roush is tied for 44th (82), Mutita Booranakunancee is tied for 49th (83),
Hannah Pope is tied for 53rd (84) and
Emily Lankford is tied for 58th (86).
Round two resumes on Tuesday, followed by the final round of play.
