ATLANTA, Ga. -- University of North Alabama red-shirt freshman third baseman Gehrig Frei of Alpharetta, Ga., has been named to the 2023 ASUN Conference All-Freshman team.

Frei, who was the only player to start all 51 games for the Lions this season, was one of 14 freshman selected for the honor by the ASUN's head baseball coaches.

Frei was second on the UNA team with a .293 batting average. He scored 32 runs, drove in another 31 and was second on the team with 92 total bases. He led the Lions with 58 hits, including 20 extra-base hits. He was second on the team with seven home runs, slugged .465 and had a .373 on base percentage.
