GADSDEN, Ala. (March 11, 2024) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team enters the final round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic on Tuesday in fifth place, just one stroke behind fourth place Northern Colorado. 
 
The Lions followed up a first round 312 with a 307 in the second round, finishing up the second round 43-over-par, 619 total. Chattanooga turned in a 296 to stay in first place by 16 strokes. Illinois State remains in second while Jacksonville State tied for the best second round and moved into sole possession of third place. Northern Colorado leads UNA by one stroke with a 618. Queens, Stonehill and South Alabama round out the rest of the participants. 
 
Allycia Gan leads all North Alabama golfers after the first two rounds with a 152 total. Gan looks to continue her four-match streak of consecutive top ten finishes, entering the final round tied for tenth. Hannah Dees tallied a team best 74 in the second round, bringing her score to a 154, and jumping her nine spots into 15th place. Jahnavi Prakhya is in 22nd place with a 156 while Kerigan Klauber is one stroke back, tied for 23rd with a 157. Tori Roush rounds out all Lion golfers, entering the third round with a 159 in 30th place. 
 
Dees and Klauber each turned in four birdies in round two, while Gan and Prakhya picked up a birdie a piece. All four birdied on hole seven, as North Alabama enters the final round as one of three teams with 20 birdies. Prakhya has the second most pars of any player in the tournament, hitting the mark on 25 of 36 holes across the two days. 
 
The tournament concludes on Tuesday, March 12 with the third and final round.
