HATTIESBURG, Miss. (October 28, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team concluded the 2025 fall season on Tuesday in Mississippi, as the Lions took home a sixth-place finish at The Judson hosted by Southern Miss at Hattiesburg Country Club.
On a day with minimal movement on the team leaderboard, the Lions held steady to best seventh place teams Belmont and Lamar by 16 strokes. UNA also finished ahead of Atlantic Sun Conference rival Austin Peay, in-state opponent Alabama State, and ranked Division II school Mississippi College.
The Lions were led with a top 20 finish from sophomore
Sirichaya Chanpen, who turned in a final card of five-over-par 221 for sole possession of 18th place in a field of 65 golfers. Chanpen finished with two birdies in the final round.
Redshirt junior
Kerigan Klauber, who recorded a 70 in the opening round to start two-under, finished 23rd for the tournament with a 76 in her final round. Klauber birdied three holes on the day and finished with eight for the tournament. Her final stroke score was 225 — four behind Chanpen.
Klauber was one of the top golfers in the whole tournament when it came to long holes, finishing four-under on par 5s.
True freshman
Kiersten Riggins had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, carding a 74 with two birdies and just four bogeys to go with 12 pars. The Trussville native started with momentum after a birdie on Hole 8 to open things up. She finished tied for 44th for the tournament with a 234 stroke score.
While Riggins rose five spots up the leaderboard, junior
Ava Schwartz also trended upward with a 75 on her third-round scorecard. Schwartz overcame an early bogey on Hole 7 with a pair of birdies to sit one-under through seven holes. Her final card put her in a tie for 38th with a 230 stroke score.
True freshman
Lisa Palmgren ended up in a tie for 32nd with a 229 for the tournament. She also had a pair of birdies in the final round, finishing with nine total.
Tournament host Southern Miss came back from three strokes down to tie Tulane for the team championship, then won in a playoff. Both schools were 13-under. Central Arkansas finished third, followed by Samford and West Georgia in the top five.
Taylor Trible of Southern Miss and Francesca Pompa of Tulane tied for the individual crown at five-under, with Trible winning the individual playoff.
UNA concludes the fall season with a pair of sixth place finishes — the first coming at the Jayhawk Invitational back in August. The Lions will start the spring season on Feb. 23-24, 2026 at the Babs Steffens Invitational, hosted by Stetson in DeBary, Fla.
