Men’s Golf completes fall slate in ninth at The Clerico

Sophomore Arthur Estas claims highest finish by a Lion this fall

TULSA, Okla. (October 20, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team finished its fall season at The Clerico tied for ninth place at the Cedar Ridge Country Club on Tuesday.

Round two of the tournament was suspended due to darkness Monday evening. All five Lions had at least two holes remaining in the second round before continuing into round three this morning.

The Lions had their highest placement after a single tournament day yesterday in fifth. The team returned with their highest finish this fall in ninth place in Tulsa.

Sophomore Arthur Estas (+5) finished in 12th for the three rounds. Estas finished in fifth for par-3s and seventh in pars made with 36. The Belgium native was one of five golfers to shoot under par on Monday and one of six golfers to have a birdie for the tournament. Only three golfers shot under par for the tournament, two from the host school Oral Roberts.

For the final round, the Lions were paired with golfers from UTEP and San Jose State.

The Lions' starting lineup consisted of three sophomores in Luke Davis, Estas and Lucas Latimer alongside two freshmen in Will Hindemit and Jack Morris. There are no upperclassmen on the UNA men's golf roster this season.

Only the host school, Oral Roberts, shot under par today. The Lions had their best round of the tournament at eight-over par, good for seventh best final round on the day. North Alabama finished in third for par-5s at five-under and third in pars with 163.

After Estas, the freshmen Hindemit (+11) and Morris (+11) both finished tied for 33rd. Both were red hot on the front as Morris had four birdies with a 32 score, Hindemit had two birdies which accompanied a 34. The two freshmen completed an even score for the final round at Cedar Ridge.

Latimer (+19) and Davis (+20) closed out the Lions group tied for 63rd and 65th, respectively.

The Lions totaled 42-over on Tuesday, defeating North Texas, UTEP and San Jose State. UNA was one stroke shy of tying Louisiana and Louisiana Tech in seventh.

The Schmitz Family Head Men's Golf Coach Matt Terry most recently coached at Louisiana Tech before coming to UNA this offseason; this is the first tournament that both North Alabama and Tech have competed in since then.

This was the final tournament of the fall semester. North Alabama finished 16th at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, 11th at the Highlands Invitational and 14th at the Cullan Brown Collegiate.
