DEBARY, Fla. (February 24, 2026) – Junior Ava Schwartz carded a three-over-par 75 in the final round of the 2026 Babs Steffens Invitational on Tuesday, leading the University of North Alabama women's golf team with a 20th place finish in DeBary, Fla.
The Lions finished ninth overall in a field of 16 teams, combining for 89-over-par 941.
UNA was one stroke back of Drake for the top half of the field but had a four-stroke lead on Palm Beach State College and a five-stroke lead on in-state rival Troy. UNA also led Southern Illinois, Bryant, Southern Utah, Mount Mercy and Le Moyne.
Schwartz had a final card of 76+80+75 to finish 18-over-par 231. She led the round with three birdies, including both holes on the 9-10 turn. She also birdied the par-three on Hole 18. Just three strokes behind her for the tournament was redshirt junior Kerigan Klauber at 21-over to finish in a tie for 30th.
Sophomores Olivia Whittle and Sirichaya Chanpen finished +27 and +28, respectively, to crack the top 50. Rounding out the lineup was freshman Kiersten Riggins with a +34 in her spring college debut.
Fellow Atlantic Sun Conference member Stetson won its home tournament at 15-over-par 867, followed by Appalachian State, Keiser, UNC Asheville, West Georgia, Georgia State and Seminole State. The Hatters were 10 strokes ahead of App State.
App State's Zoe Duval won the tournament at seven-under, beating Stetson's Isaki Sakashita by five strokes. Stetson had three of the top four and four of the top 10.
