NOTABLES
THE LINEUP: UNA will take five golfers to Mobile this week, including the same five that started last tournament. This group includes Sirichaya Chanpen, Ava Schwartz, Kerigan Klauber, Olivia Whittle and Kiersten Riggins.
THE FIELD: UNA will have four Atlantic Sun Conference contenders to battle, including Central Arkansas, Lipscomb, Stetson and West Georgia. The rest of the field includes JMU, Missouri State, Navy, New Haven, Seminole State, Southern Miss, UT Arlington and host school South Alabama. UT Arlington will become UNA's conference opponent next year in the United Athletic Conference.
ORDER OF EVENTS: UNA will begin the first round at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Lions will join Navy and Seminole State on holes 11-13. The first two rounds will take place on Monday, while the final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
THE COURSE: Magnolia Grove is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama. The Crossings course, which has hosted both the LPGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, provides an open, parkland-type ambiance. Several water features and crushed oyster shell waste areas were added to provide an exciting new look. All holes feature the acclaimed Mini Verde Ultradwarf greens. This is a par-72 course that spans 6,204 yards.
LAST TIME OUT: KKlauber led one of the most historic team performances in program history two weeks ago, earning ASUN Golfer of the Week and finishing in a tie for second with a one-over-par 217 — the third-lowest score in program history. The Lions finished second out of 10 teams with a final score of 25-over-par 889. This score is just five strokes shy of the all-time school record set at the same course in 2023. UNA was just seven strokes shy of the win, but led the rest of the field by at least 12 strokes.
NEW COURSE: UNA has been in multiple tournaments with South Alabama hosting, but never at Magnolia Grove. The last time UNA played in a South Alabama-hosted tournament was the Bama Beach Bash in Gulf Shores back in 2023. The Jags hosted that tournament for many years, with UNA first playing in it in 2019. UAB took over hosting duties in 2024 and 2025.
