THE LINEUP: UNA will take six golfers to Huntsville this week, including the same five that started last week. Junior Gracee Prince — a Madison, Ala. native — will make her spring debut this week while playing near her hometown. The top five includes Sirichaya Chanpen, Kerigan Klauber, Ava Schwartz, Olivia Whittle and Kiersten Riggins.
THE FIELD: UNA will join a wide-range of programs in Huntsville, including in-state schools Samford and UAB. Fellow Atlantic Sun Conference members Bellarmine and Austin Peay will be in attendance, as well as IU Indianapolis, Indiana State, Merrimack College, Belmont and Eastern Illinois.
ORDER OF EVENTS: UNA will begin the first round at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Prince will play as an individual on hole 15 alongside Indiana State, Bellarmine and Merrimack.
THE COURSE: Hampton Cove is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and is nestled in Huntsville, Alabama with a 54-hole facility with terrain that drastically changes from one side of the property to the other. The Highlands Course is one of the most picturesque and playable courses on the Trail. Long, waving grasses frame dramatically, rolling terrain and beautiful bent grass greens.
LAST TIME OUT: Schwartz carded a three-over-par 75 in the final round of the 2026 Babs Steffens Invitational this past Tuesday, leading the University of North Alabama women's golf team with a 20th place finish in DeBary, Fla. The Lions finished ninth of 16 teams on the leaderboard, but four of the five starters were among the top 50 individuals.
HUNTSVILLE REWIND: UNA has become regulars at RTJ Hampton Cove between this specific tournament and the handful of times the ASUN has hosted a championship. Last year at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate perhaps set the tone for what the Lions are capable of, as UNA finished second of 12 teams. UNA was just six strokes back of Troy for the win. Whittle, who is in the lineup this week, finished tied for fifth last year.
