Women’s Golf completes two rounds at Magnolia Collegiate

Final round begins at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning

MOBILE, Ala. (March 16, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team played the first two rounds of the Magnolia Collegiate on a chilly and windy Monday at RTJ Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Ala.

The Lions currently sit 13th place after two rounds with a team score of 53-over-par 628. UNA shot a 314 in the first round and a 315 in the second. UNA tied for the fifth-most birdies in the field over two rounds with 16 combined from five players.

Battling a gnarly north wind, sophomore ace Sirichaya Chanpen led the team with a nine-over day, including a 77 in the first round and a 76 in the second round. She ended the day with a birdie on hole 10. She is currently tied for 22nd and sits just six strokes back of the leaders and three strokes away from the top 10.

Fellow sophomore Olivia Whittle and redshirt junior Kerigan Klauber — who won Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week on March 5 — are tied for 41st and 52nd over two rounds with scores of 12-over and 14-over, respectively.

ASUN members Lipscomb and West Georgia are tied for the team lead after two rounds at 23-over. Host school South Alabama is third, followed by Stetson, JMU, Southern Miss, Missouri State, Central Arkansas, Seminole State, Navy (A), Navy (B), UT Arlington, UNA and New Haven. The Lions lead New Haven by 33 strokes.

Barring any setbacks from weather, the final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
