NOTES
THE RUNDOWN: North Alabama dropped last weekend's series to Lipscomb but salvaged the final game on Sunday, 13-7. This was North Alabama's first road win of the season after eight attempts; four of those came from Ole Miss and then No. 10 Southern Miss. North Alabama scored nine runs in the first inning on Sunday; that two-inning total tallied more runs than 17 full-length games from the Lions this season. This is the second-most runs scored in a game behind the bashing of Murray State on Feb. 18, 15-5. Sunday's win owns the most at-bats in a game as a team this season, as well as the most walks, second-most runs, second-most hits and third-most RBIs.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 18th all-time meeting for the two dating back to 1984. North Alabama owns an 8-9 overall record with a 4-3 home record. The Lions have managed two wins during the Division I era. This is the first game between the two since 2024 and the first in Florence since 2022. The last five games were in Cookeville, Tenn. with both Division I wins coming during that span.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: Tennessee Tech comes to Florence owning a similar record to North Alabama at 8-12. The Golden Eagles are 1-7 on the road this season with the only road win against Georgia Southern, 5-2. TTU most recently beat Mercer on Sunday, 16-10, which broke up a six-game losing streak; all six losses and the lone win during the stretch saw Tennessee Tech opponents earn double-digit runs. Twelve of its 20 games this season have allowed the opponent to score 10 or more runs in the game.

10 OR MORE: After Sunday's win of Lipscomb 13-7, the Lions now move to 5-1 when having 10 hits or more in a single game. The Lions only loss came against Lipscomb the day prior after trying to mount a comeback, 7-5.  The 11 hits tied for the second most in a game and gave the Lions their second most runs with 13. Two of the five wins came in mercy rule fashion of Murray State and Saint Louis. The other two wins came against SIUE and Southern Indiana.

BIG BATS ONLY: North Alabama is known for their terrific play on the diamond and this season, it has coupled with bigger bats. The Lions rank 11th in the league for hits with 149; however, the team shares a league-high 24 home runs. This is best for 45th in the nation tied with teams such as Cal, Clemson and Texas Tech to name a few.

TOP OF THE BOARD: The Lions are the top statistical team in the ASUN when it comes to fielding percentage, boasting the league best of .976. This metric is due in part to the team committing the least amount of errors with only 16 through the 20-game season; the next closest team has 20. The catchers for UNA have been a wall, as well, allowing only one passed ball – another league best.

SHAMROCK SHINE: The Tuesday midweek matchup against Tennessee Tech falls on March 17th, better known as St. Patrick's Day. The North Alabama Baseball team welcomes all fans to Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium to wear green for the afternoon game. As first pitch is thrown, fans can enjoy a St. Patrick's Day themed happy hour.
