MOBILE, Ala. (March 17, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team finished play in the Magnolia Collegiate hosted by South Alabama on Tuesday, shooting the seventh-lowest round of the day to place 11th overall.

The Lions shot seven strokes better than yesterday's low round, going 19-over as a team. For the three round, two day tournament, the Lions finished with a final score of 71-over par 936. This was three strokes ahead of Navy (B) and four ahead of future conference opponent UT-Arlington. UNA retained its lead over New Haven.

The round started one hour later than scheduled due to expected frost, but the wind was calmer than yesterday's gusts on a cold, but sunny day.

Four of the five Lions moved up the leaderboard Tuesday. UNA's best round came from junior Ava Schwartz, who carded a 75 with three birdies to move up 12 spots into a tie for 52nd.

UNA's best three-round total came from sophomore Olivia Whittle with a consistent card of 77-79-78 to finish 18-over. She was tied for 37th and three strokes back from the top 30. Whittle birdied her final hole.

True freshman Kiersten Riggins had her lowest round of the tournament with a 76 in the third round. She had one birdie on hole three and parred all but four holes. The tandem of sophomore Sirichaya Chanpen and Kerigan Klauber finished tied for 45th overall.

Host school South Alabama won the home tournament, followed by Atlantic Sun Conference schools West Georgia, Lipscomb and Stetson not far behind. West Georgia was three strokes off the winning score.

Stetson's Isaki Sakashita was the overall winner at one-over-par.

The Lions return to action next Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24 at the Nashville Invitational hosted by Lipscomb at Hermitage Golf Course.
