PERRY, Ga. (March 30, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team finished the final regular season event of the spring Monday, coming home with a fourth place finish at the Houston Lake Invitational hosted by Mercer in Perry, Ga.
The Lions turned in a final card of 58-over with a final round of 17-over.
All five Lions finished within two strokes of each other, led by junior
Ava Schwartz at 10-over for the tournament for sole possession of eighth place. She carded a 76 in the final round following a career-low round of 71 yesterday.
Sophomore
Sirichaya Chanpen also placed in the top 10, beating three other golfers for the 10th spot. She finished 13-over with a final card of 77-75-77.
Redshirt junior
Kerigan Klauber and true freshman
Kiersten Riggins both penciled a 76 on Monday, as the latter finished tied for 14th with a 15-over final score. Klauber finished in sole possession of 18th at 22-over.
Sophomore
Olivia Whittle rounded things out with a 78 today and a 24-over tournament to finished within the top 20 — tied for 19th.
Riggins and Klauber turned in two birdies apiece, while Whittle added one on the seventh hole. Schwartz had the most-steady day with 12 pars to just four bogeys. Schwartz tied Sophia Gambini from East Tennessee State with the most pars with 39 for the tournament. Schwartz also had the third-fewest bogeys with eight over 54 holes.
As a team, UNA had the second-most pars in the tournament with 165 and the second-fewest bogeys with 65. East Tennessee State, which won the tournament, led both categories by just three total.
ETSU won the tournament with a final score of 21-over, followed by Belmont, host school Mercer, UNA and Bethune-Cookman. Belmont's Chloe Tarkany won individual medalist honors at two-under.

The Lions will begin postseason play in April at the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. The event will run from April 17-19 and will be hosted at the Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Ala.
