THE FIELD: All 12 ASUN teams will compete this weekend, including Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, FGCU, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, North Alabama, North Florida, Queens, Stetson and West Georgia. UNA will be paired with EKU and Austin Peay on Day 1.
THE COURSE: Dothan Country Club spans 6,256 yards with 3,120 yards in the front nine and 3,136 yards in the back nine. The course includes quality Bermuda greens, a state-of-the-art irrigation system and resurfaces tees and cart paths. According to the course website, PGA golfer Stewart Cink, who has ties to the Shoals area, has called DCC "the hardest easy course he's ever played; it's absolutely a must play course in the Southeast."
LAST TIME OUT: UNA finished fourth at the Houston Lake Invitational at the end of last month to end the regular season, recording a combined score of 58-over-par. Schwartz led the way with an eighth-place finish and recorded her lowest collegiate round with a 71 in the second. She had three birdies, 14 pars and one double for a steady round. Chanpen also finished in the top 10 with a 78-75-78 final card.
2025 REWIND: Last year's ASUN Championship took place at RTJ Hampton Cove just down the road in Huntsville. The Lions finished eighth place in that tournament with a 72-over score to defeat Queens, Jacksonville, West Georgia and Bellarmine. FGCU won the automatic bid after tying for first with Stetson at 41-over and winning the sudden-death playoff in the final round. UNA's top performer was then-senior
Jahnavi Prakhya at 13-over, while Chanpen was 22nd at 15-over.
READY TO ROLL: This will be the third ASUN Championship appearance for Klauber but her first in Dothan. Her lowest postseason round came in her first tournament with a 74 in the second round of the 2024 ASUN Championship. Chanpen will play her second postseason after back-to-back rounds of 75 to open last season's tournament. This will be the first ASUN appearances for Schwartz, Riggins and Whittle, though Whittle was a sub at last year's tournament.
