FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama women's golf coach Neil Self has announced the signing of Anna Margaret Hays of Muscle Shoals, Ala., to a National Letter of Intent with the Lions.

A senior at Muscle Shoals High School, Hays was a member of the Trojans' 2017 and 2018 state championship teams. She finished third individually at the 2018 AHSAA State Championship and was eighth individually in 2017.

The 2018 Times Daily Player of the Year and a four-time all-area honoree, Hays was a 2018 Optimist International Qualifier. She claimed medalist honors at the 2018 Good Hope Invitational and 2018 Auburn Invitational at Grand National.

Hays finished second at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Ole Miss Classic in 2017 and was medalist at the 2017 SJGT Ol Colony Junior Tournament.

Hays is the first signee of UNA's second recruiting class in women's golf. The Lions are in their first season of women's golf competition.
