KILLEN, Ala. – The University of North Alabama fired a seven-under-par, 281 in the first round to take a 10-stroke lead, and closed the day with a three-shot lead over Valparaiso at the 2021 TVA Community Credit Union Invitational at the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
 
The Lions had a solid 297 in the second round but Valparaiso came in at 290 to dramatically close the gap.

UT-Martin is third (587), followed by Southern Illinois (589), Rollins (594), Murray State (598), Chicago State (599), Southeastern Louisiana (600), Stetson (609), Texas Southern (618) and Alabama A&M (644).
 
Valparaiso's Caleb VanArrago leads individually after the first day at four-under par. His 140 total gives him a one stroke lead over UNA's Tom Roed Karlsen, Tate Chumley of UT-Martin ad Southern Illinois' Braden Hoisington, all at 141.
 
UNA's Dawson Garrett is tied for fifth at two-under-par, while Frankie Wade is tied for 11^th, Carter Goodwin tied for 22^nd and Thomas Regan tied for 44^th.
 
Alessandro Gambetti leads the three Lions playing as individuals. He is tied for 11^th, while Rob Richards is tied for 14^th and Phil Williams is tied for seventh.
