UNA TENNIS HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CLINIC

FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama tennis program raised just over $1,200 on Saturday by hosting the inaugural UNA Adult Tennis Clinic. With 39 people on hand, UNA director of tennis Olaya Garrido Rivas said the plans are to make the clinic an annual event.

"It was a great turnout for being just our first clinic," said Garrido-Rivas. "We were at full capacity and everyone had a great time. We are super grateful that Florence has such a good tennis community, and are looking forward to keep working expand our relationships."

The clinic, which was held at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts, featured UNA coaches and players and served lunch following the two-hour event.

"It was a great first clinic," added UNA assistant tennis coach Aitor Reparaz. "Since we arrived in Florence it has been very clear that the support from the community is one of the biggest strengths UNA has to offer. We definitely felt that on Saturday. The turnout was great and we had a great time playing tennis and socializing. I'm looking forward to many more to come."
