OPELIKA, Ala. -- After a strong early start, the University of North Alabama men's golf team fell off the pace and is tied for 14th after the first round of the Tiger Invitational by Jason Dufner.
UNA turned in a five-over-par, 293 total and is tied with UNC-Wilmington. Southern Mississippi leads the tournament with a 15-under-par, 273 opening round. Host Auburn is second at 276.
Individually, UNA's
Andre Jacobs is tied for ninth after firing a first round 69.
Francois Jacobs is tied for 27th at 71, while
Niko Nebout is tied for 70th (76),
Carter Goodwin is tied for 74th (77) and
Henry Frizzell is tied for 79th (78).
The tournament continues Monday with the final round set for Tuesday.
