Choudrant, La. (September 10, 2023) – With Lion senior Henry Frizzell tied for ninth, the University of North Alabama men's golf team sits in 13th place after one round of the Argent Financial Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech at Squire Creek Country Club.

The Lions turned in a nine-over-par 297 total in the first round. Central Arkansas leads the tournament with a nine-under par 279 opening round. Louisiana sits in second place with a 287, while host Louisiana Tech is tied with Southern Mississippi for third (288).

Individually, North Alabama's Henry Frizzell is tied for ninth after tallying a two-under-par 70 in his first round. Eric Luo is tied for 40th at 74 while Sebastian Bengtsson is tied for 57th at 76. Corey Maher is tied for 67th (77) and Andrew Ferworn is tied for 75th (78).

UNA had 13 birdies on day one, with Henry Frizzell and Eric Luo having four each. Four of the five Lion individuals birdied on hole 17.

Round two of the 16-team tournament resumes on Monday before concluding play on Tuesday.
